James asks…Is it normal for an insurance company to ask for my car title during the claim process?The at-fault driver's insurance company wants to total my car (which I do not want to happen but... ). However they want to see the title first before formal negotiations. Is this normal?admin answers:Yes, they need to be sure you are the owner and if there is a lien on the title the insurance company has to pay that first.
